Date of Birth – 29/06/83

Years paddling:

I began paddling at age 8(16 years ago), paddling white water and competing in slalom. I began playing canoe polo aged 13 (11 years ago) for Friends Of Allonby Canoe Club.

D B Xclusive products used:

I paddle a Flight boat and use Flow paddles. I also use DB spray deck, lycras, hot tops and shorts.

Favourite DB product and why:

My favourite DB product is my boat.
My boat enables me to have good control and manoeuvrability around the pitch, I think the overall shape of the boat positively influences my speed and it is quick and easy to turn. I think the Flight is very responsive and I am very happy with my boat.

Describe your most memorable kayaking experience:

The year of 2005 holds some of my most memorable kayaking experiences, in July 05’ I went to the World Games as one of 7 players in the Great Britain Team, this was my first year as a Senior Ladies player and a great experience. At the World Games we played a series of games and found ourselves in the final against Germany, after full time we were drawing and then we had to play two halves of extra time, it was in the second half of extra time that we unfortunately conceded a goal and lost the final. This was a great experience for me and having the opportunity to play at the World Games, one I will always remember.
Also in this year I competed at the European Championships with the Great Britain Senior Ladies Team, it was at this Championship that we won a Gold Medal, my first as a Senior Ladies player.

Competition Success:

For my club F.O.A Ladies Div 1 Team I have won

National Championships in:
2002
2004
2007
National League champions:
2002/3

2006/7

European Club Championships Results:
2003 Bronze - Ieper
2004 Fifth - Liverpool
2006 Gold - Madrid
2007 Bronze - Italy

My achievements in the Great Britain Team include:

Thanks, now please complete a ‘review’ of your latest kayak from DBxclusive:

My latest kayak from DB Xclusive is a Flight, I have been really happy with this boat, the shape and size of the boat suits me perfectly, the seat position has been specifically set for myself which makes a big difference to my turning and forward speed. I have good control and manoeuvrability in the Flight as I am comfortably positioned.
